Former Ofsted inspector says Covid disruption means students will need catch-up regardless of grades
An education and teaching expert has warned that universities may need to give new students extra assessments in September to tackle the gaps in their learning at school during the pandemic, even if they have achieved the top grades.
Geraint Jones, executive director at Coventry University’s National School of Education and Teaching, told Research Professional News that universities might need to provide additional help to students who start university in September regardless of their exam results, as an A grade “isn’t going to be the same” as in previous years.
