Students demand money back for university accommodation as country heads into another lockdown
Universities are facing increased pressure to pay back students’ rent for the spring term after the government told students in England to stay away from campus until at least the middle of next month.
Advice for universities published after prime minster Boris Johnson announced a national lockdown in England on 4 January confirmed that students “should remain where they are wherever possible” and start the spring term online “until at least mid-February”, replacing previous guidance published less than a week ago.
