Timing of student return shows government is ‘out of touch’

      

MPs and union criticise timing of full campus reopening

The government has been accused of being “out of touch with higher education” after confirming that universities in England can fully reopen for in-person teaching from 17 May. 

The Department for Education confirmed on 10 May that all students who have not yet returned to campus for face-to-face tuition can do so from Monday. Currently, only those on certain courses are permitted to attend lectures in-person.
