£18m to boost higher technical qualifications at universities

Department for Education announces measures to expand alternatives to three-year degree

Universities have been promised £18 million to help them offer more technical qualifications and “counter the myth” that a degree is the only path to a good career.

The Department for Education announced on 11 June that universities will be encouraged to offer “high-quality alternatives” to degrees in a bid to increase the number of people taking higher technical qualifications.
