The Liberal Democrats seek another review of the tuition fee system in England.
Further funding reforms could be introduced to English universities, should the Liberal Democrats hold the balance of power. The party’s election manifesto, published today, promises to review the existing system within the next Parliament and to introduce any necessary changes.
Concerns that students from poor households struggle with their living costs while at university have prompted the proposed rethink, according to the manifesto. The review would examine the latest evidence of the impact of the current system on access, participation and quality. Both undergraduate and postgraduate courses would fall within its remit.
