Skidmore mulls industrial strategy successor

The universities and science minister has hinted at a replacement for the industrial strategy

It is time to “look afresh” at the industrial strategy and potentially create a new science and research framework, universities and science minister Chris Skidmore has said.

Speaking at a Royal Society fringe event at the Conservative Party conference on 30 September, Skidmore said that while he did not want to “rip up” the industrial strategy, it was time to “reframe the debate” as the UK leaves the European Union.
