Government says it has contacted the students in Afghanistan about travel plans and visas
Foreign secretary Dominic Raab has promised the Chevening scholars in Afghanistan that the government is arranging flights to ensure they can come to the UK.
Raab told MPs in parliament on 18 August that the government had “contacted all of the Chevening scholars in Afghanistan, not just to tell them that they can come, but to actively make arrangements for the upcoming flights to the UK”.
