How the Left thinks about higher education

The latest suggestions for the reform of higher education are mostly welcomed.

At the launch of the report yesterday morning, Chuka Umunna, the shadow business secretary, said: "It is clear that the government’s funding framework for higher education is unsustainable. I hear the many voices which say that we need to invest more in higher education in the longer term and I agree with them but we will need to find the money to do that while maintaining fiscal discipline."
