Cyber attack

Many universities have experienced problems with their internet connections.

A sustained denial-of-service attack on the joint academic network led to staff and students at many institutions facing difficulties connecting to the internet. The attack began on Monday and Jisc, which runs the network, said that it suspects whoever was behind it adjusted their points of attack based on its Twitter updates, which it was using to communicate with students who were experiencing problems meeting assessment deadlines.
