Higher education has a role in boosting economic growth.
Greg Clark, the business secretary, has asked for universities to inform the UK’s industrial strategy. Mr Clark, who was more interested in cities than universities when he was higher education minister, last night nevertheless told BBC1’s Question Time that higher education institutions would play a central role.
