Demand for higher education falters

A decrease in the number of school-leavers hits university expansion plans in England.

British universities are becoming ever more reliant on EU students to fill their undergraduate places, according to figures published today by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. The data provide the first indication of student recruitment patterns this autumn.
