Liam Fox is out of the leadership chase to become the next prime minister; Stephen Crabb has also quit.

Theresa May leads the pack after 165 MPs—exactly half the electorate—voted for her to become the next prime minister. Andrea Leadsom secured 66 votes, Michael Gove 48, Stephen Crabb 34 and Liam Fox 16. A total of 329 votes were cast, with David Cameron abstaining. Both Dr Fox, who was eliminated, and Mr Crabb, who pulled out of the race after the result was announced, have said they will support Mrs May.
