The higher education and research bill is predicted to pass within 48 hours.
MPs will debate and pass the bill today. Peers will then meet, probably tomorrow, to discuss whether the concessions are sufficient. The peers will be able to declare themselves completely in agreement with the bill, in agreement with one or more further amendments or disagreed with the bill. The government hopes to reach agreement and pass the bill into law within 48 hours.
