University income from industry remains almost flat

University income from businesses and communities has grown only marginally.

Universities earned £4.2 billion from services to businesses and collaborative research in 2015-16, according to a survey conducted by the Higher Education Statistics Agency, reports Research Fortnight, our sister publication. England and Northern Ireland experienced a growth in income while Scotland and Wales made less money than the previous year.
