The former universities minister’s resignation from the government spells trouble for Theresa May.

On the HE desk at Research Professional, we play a game on a Friday to predict what will be announced or sneaked out just as we are preparing to switch off our computers at the end of the day. This week, it was the resignation of Jo Johnson as transport minister, which caught many by surprise.

It is not surprising to learn that Johnson is an ardent Remainer. Although he was bound by the responsibility of government, it was clear that Johnson considered Brexit a disaster for the UK.
