Fresh guidance on fitness to practise provides food for thought for universities offering professional qualifications
Today, the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education publishes guidance on how institutions should respond when concerns are raised about students’ fitness to practise.
“Higher education providers that run courses leading to professional qualifications should have in place procedures that ensure any concerns about a student’s fitness to practise are dealt with fairly, promptly and proportionately,” the OIA says in a statement accompanying the guidance (grammar fans will appreciate the importance of the first comma in that sentence).
