
Amid more reports of financial calamity for universities, what next for higher education?
There is only one story on the planet today and that is the presidential election in the United States. Meanwhile, though, in Playbook’s corner of the world, the Institute for Fiscal Studies is warning that universities face significant funding shortfalls as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
There was also a last-minute attempt yesterday evening by universities minister Michelle Donelan to steal the show with the release of letters to students and vice-chancellors outlining how the lockdown rules in England applied to universities. What does it all mean for higher education?
