A report urges universities to lead the way on carbon emission reduction

When Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election in the United States, one of the first things he committed to doing was rejoining the Paris climate accord.

Climate change, and the world’s response to it, really ought to be front page news every day—but for whatever reason, environmental stories just don’t seem to trouble the most-read lists. It clearly wasn’t a priority of the Trump presidency, and it’s been somewhat overlooked in higher education too—which is why it is welcome that this morning, the Higher Education Policy Institute publishes its first-ever report on climate change. Better late than never.
