The Office for Students asks what students and universities want it to do

After nearly three years of the Office for Students, it’s surprising how much disagreement still exists over what the relationship between universities and their students should be.

This became evident at an event held by the regulator yesterday to explore not so much this relationship as that between regulator and regulated. It coincided with the publication of the OfS’s annual review, which promised to prioritise digital education, quality and opportunities for mature students, and with a series of consultations, including one launched last month on quality and standards.
