MillionPlus and UUK request support for key worker disciplines after three weeks of rescue discussions
At 8pm tomorrow, we will not be taking to the streets to clap for our bankers. Nor for our lawyers, accountants or recruitment consultants.
It would be a mistake to seek silver linings on the coronavirus cloud. But if there is one bit of good that might have come from the Covid-19 outbreak, it is the widespread realisation that the jobs we ought to value the most are among those that society often rewards the least. Our postal workers, utility maintenance staff and bus drivers. We could go on.
