A new Labour leader, university-business interaction data and a moratorium on unconditional offers

Late last night, it emerged that prime minister Boris Johnson had been taken to hospital with persistent symptoms of coronavirus. Our news editor Mico Tatalovic has the story. The prime minister is believed to be in St Thomas’ hospital in London, where the King’s College medical school is based.

Mico also brings us news that Scotland’s chief medical officer Catherine Calderwood has resigned after being photographed flouting coronavirus lockdown rules. It comes after first minister Nicola Sturgeon had earlier stood by Calderwood, who appears in official information adverts in Scotland urging people to stay at home.
