One Labour spokesperson goes, another writes a letter and there’s more LEO data

Speculation has been rife recently about the future of education secretary Gavin Williamson after his failure to get schools back—or do much else. In the event, his opposite number has fallen first, and on Williamson’s birthday too.

Only last week, the Labour education team was basking in a government U-turn after England forward Marcus Rashford’s campaign on free school meals. Seven days later, the party is looking for a new frontbench lead on education.
