Testing times, again

Where is the assessment of the effectiveness of mass testing of students for Covid-19?

Before we rush on to the next higher education crisis—as rumours of an imminent government response to Augar do the rounds—perhaps we should pause to ask: What just happened there? Before Christmas, universities participated in mass testing of students returning to home addresses, but where is the analysis of that unprecedented exercise?

Universities were due to start a second round of testing for returning students before the stagger back to campus was put on hold by nationwide lockdowns. However, the limited number of students on professional and practical courses who have returned are subject to testing, and the return of most students is still scheduled to start from 15 February, four weeks from now.
