Once again this morning, Playbook will don its winter coat and take a trip to hear from people who are out on strike in a bid to improve the pay, working conditions and pensions of those who choose a career in academia.
Our news pages will bring you the latest from the front line as staff take to the streets to protest reductions in pensions benefits and campaign for better pay. The University and College Union expects its 70,000 members to walk out today, tomorrow and on 30 November. In total, more than 200,000 university staff are eligible to strike as a result of the union’s mandate.
