The UK may “strike out alone” on international research as Horizon hopes fade

The wheels in Whitehall grind exceedingly slow and the wheels of UK-EU relations exceedingly slower. But the game might be afoot for an alternative to associate membership of Horizon Europe.

The weekend’s papers had plenty for universities to digest—the main thrust of which is driven by the recent creation of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, headed up by a familiar face in former universities minister Michelle Donelan.
