Is association with Horizon Europe around the corner?
On Friday afternoon, we reported on the pages of Research Professional News that negotiations with the EU over the UK’s place in the bloc’s Horizon Europe R&D programme were “very close to completion”. Just not close enough for the government to mention it in an update on the Windsor Framework published on the same day.
Our source for the claims of proximity was none other than science minister George Freeman, who had said as much in a podcast with the BBC’s Nick Robinson. “We want to come back in; we just need to agree a fair price. The negotiations are very close to completion,” Freeman told the Political Thinking show.
