
Tens of branches could withdraw from strikes as universities make their own arrangements with staff
It’s fair to say that yesterday was a busy day in Carlow Street for the University and College Union.
On Wednesday, as covered in yesterday’s Playbook, UCU HQ announced in a celebratory press release that staff at King’s College London had called off participation in a marking and assessment boycott, also opting out of next week’s national strikes over pay and conditions. This followed an offer from the employer that included an increase in London weighting payments and other improvements to staff benefits.
