Derry council wants conditions on money for Magee campus, after Belfast bailout

Local councillors have backed a string of demands to be attached to millions of pounds in funding for Ulster University, after warning a long-awaited medical school could miss its 2021 opening date.

Ulster University’s graduate entry medical school at the university’ Magee campus in Derry was given the go-ahead in May, after it secured a share of the £100 million-plus Derry and Strabane city deal funding.
