Angela Constance wants to further narrow the gap between rich and poor.

Scottish schools, colleges and universities need to move faster to ensure more equitable educational outcomes, Angela Constance (pictured), the education secretary in the Scottish Parliament, has said.


Speaking to HE, Constance said that her priority is to “close the equity gap” in Scotland and boost attainment levels for young people from the country’s most deprived postcodes. “We’ve made progress but we want to do so much better,” she says. “We’ve been open and upfront about it.”
