Scottish government urged to tackle ‘dire’ student housing

Students and landlords call for action on housing availability for students

The Scottish government has been urged to do more to address a shortage of rental accommodation after complaints that students have been left scrambling to find a place to live.

On 11 October the Scottish Association of Landlords said that recent complaints from students about a “dire lack of properties to rent” were an “unintended consequence” of legislation on private tenancies passed in 2017.
