Steep fall in European applicants

European Union students vote with their feet following referendum result.

The number of EU nationals applying for a UK university place has fallen by almost 10 per cent, according to figures published by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service.

Medicine has been particularly hard hit, attracting 16 per cent fewer applicants who are non-UK EU nationals.
