A 25-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested following a “sophisticated and malicious phishing attack” at Lancaster University.

In a statement issued on 24 July, the National Crime Agency said the individual had been arrested on 22 July under suspicion of committing Computer Misuse Act and fraud offences.

“Officers from the NCA’s National Cyber Crime Unit arrested the man…and he has since been released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing,” the statement said.
