Workers in London without degrees earn better salaries than young graduates in most other English regions, data have revealed.
Non-graduates woking in the capital earned a median salary of £26,200 in 2016-17, higher than graduates at five years after graduation in all but three regions.
According to the regional Longitudinal Education Outcomes data, released on 18 July, young graduates (i.e. excluding mature students) only earned better salaries in the east of England (£27,300), the south-east (£27,900) and London itself (£31,300).
