UUKi report shows first-ever decline in total number of transnational students

The total number of students studying for UK higher education qualifications in countries overseas has fallen for the first time on record.

According to a report on transnational education by Universities UK International, published on 6 November, 693,695 students were studying on overseas UK programmes in 2017-18, a decrease of 2 per cent (14,220 students) when compared with 2016−17.
