Guidance from Universities UK gives ideas on how to share spending breakdown with students
Universities are being told to explain how spending on research and infrastructure benefits students, as part of a bid to be more transparent with students about how their tuition fees are spent.
In guidance for universities published 22 October, vice-chancellors’ body Universities UK (UUK) urged institutions to highlight how spending in non-teaching areas such as research, buildings and industry partnerships benefits students, in an effort to increase students’ satisfaction over whether their university experience is good value for money.
