NUS elects new president

Union also names vice-presidents for further and higher education

Larissa Kennedy has been elected as the new president of the National Union of Students.

Kennedy (pictured), a University of Warwick politics international studies and hispanic studies graduate, beat off competition from six other candidates and will replace the incumbent president, Zamzam Ibrahim, from 1 July. She was elected. Voting was open to 676 delegates from NUS member students’ unions between 16 March and 31 March, with an overall 80 per cent turnout recorded.
