International students want fee reduction if courses start online

Majority of international students would want tuition discount if courses started online

More than three quarters of international students say they would want a discount on tuition fees if courses begin online in September.

A total of 77 per cent of international students surveyed by higher education rankings agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) said their tuition fees should be discounted if degree courses have to start online in September due to the coronavirus pandemic—even if they are able to travel to campus later in the year. Just 8 per cent thought they should stay the same, while 14 per cent were unsure whether fee levels should change.
