Plea for new financial package to help students ‘survive’ summer

      

Union calls for UK-wide financial support that would go beyond “measly amounts of hardship funding”

Almost 70 per cent of students are worried about their ability to cope financially over the summer, the National Union of Students has claimed as it launched a petition calling for a financial support package for students.

According to the union’s Coronavirus Student Survey, released on 17 May, around 70 per cent of students are concerned to some extent about how they will manage financially over the academic break.
