Slight rise in unemployment for pandemic cohort of graduates

Graduate Outcomes data reveal unemployment increase but higher rates of further study

Employment rates among graduates have dropped by 3 percentage points during the pandemic, but there has been an increase in those taking up further study.

Data in the Graduate Outcomes survey, published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency on 20 July, show that the proportion of graduates in full-time employment fell from 59 per cent for the cohort who graduated in 2017-18 to 56 per cent for those who left university in 2018-19.
