Welsh minister announces EU students will not have to pay international fees in Wales

Students from the European Union will keep paying the same level of tuition fees as home students in Wales from September despite Brexit.

Welsh education minister Kirsty Williams revealed that Wales would charge EU students the same fee level as home students from the 2021-22 academic year, in a statement published 6 January. It makes Wales the first UK nation to commit to charging EU students pre-Brexit tuition fee levels.
