African Development Bank prioritises universities

Building the capacity of universities is essential for social and economic growth, said delegates at the annual meeting of the African Development Bank (AfDB), held this month in Portugal, of all places.

Romain Murenzi, the executive director of Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (originally the Third World Academy of Science, or TWAS) argued that more funding for universities would improve the numbers of African postgraduates.
