Unesco and Nigeria to build biotech centre

A United Nations agency and the Nigerian government agreed on 15 October to create a biotechnology research centre in Africa’s most populous country.

The International Institute for Biotechnology will be set up at the University of Nigeria in Nsukka following an agreement between the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) and Nigeria’s education ministry.
