Funding parcel for EU-Africa strategy nears approval

The European Commission has proposed a €1 billion (US$1.2bn) pan-African programme to fund projects in science and other priority themes in its collaboration with Africa.

The Joint EU-Africa strategy, produced in December 2007, outlines a vision of Africa-EU relations in eight priority areas, the eighth of which includes science.
