Gates foundation funds African GMO watchdog

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has doubled its funding for a project to assist the regulation of agricultural biotechnology products in sub-Saharan Africa.

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, which has offices in Cape Town, South Africa, and in Trieste, Italy, received US$6 million from the foundation on 8 November.
