AusAid moves towards more competitive grants

Australian Aid will increase research funding allocated through competition over the next four years, says AusAid’s research strategy for 2012-2016, published on 23 July.

The funder, which spent AU$106 million (US$110m) on research in developing countries in the 2010-11 financial year, will increase the portion of funding allocated through open competition from 14 per cent last year to 30 per cent by 2015-16.
