Award honours young female scientists

An award launched on 19 July will celebrate the achievements of early-career female scientists from Africa and the rest of the developing world.

A cash prize of US$5,000 will go to women who have excelled in the life sciences, chemistry, physics and mathematics and who have graduated with a PhD in the past 10 years. The award will rotate the fields each year, with 2013 focusing on life sciences.
