Nigerian student wins Howard Hughes award

A Nigerian graduate student at the University of Illinois has won one of 50 international student research fellowships from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in the United States.

Tolulope Agunbiade is the only African selected for funding by the programme, which was launched last year to help international students at US institutions who do not qualify for federal support focus on their postgraduate research.
