Botswana sets up two science funds

Botswana’s government has set aside 6 million pula (US$770,000) to create two separate funds to stimulate the country’s sluggish research performance.

The Department for Research, Science and Technology is spending 3m pula to set up and manage a competitive fund for science. The fund will implement the national science policy approved by Parliament last month and due for a public launch on 14 August.
