Canada has awarded 15 PhD grants to graduate students in sub-Saharan Africa in peace, governance and security. The awards, announced on 14 August, are part of an initiative to improve African policymaking.
Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) funded the fellowships with the aim of increasing African research and publication capacity on governance, peace, and security. Fellows will benefit from supervision and mentorship and from the opportunity to spend semesters in Canadian universities.
