Funding boost for UK collaborations with Africa

Two UK organisations—the Royal Society and the Department for International Development—have teamed up to invest £15.3 million (US$24m) in partnerships between researchers in Africa and the UK.

The cash will help set up a research and training programme in sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on water and sanitation, renewable energy and soil-related research.
